*tap tap* Is this thing on?

So . . . yeah. No one has this url yet, so I can write anything I want, mwa-hahahaha!!! Actually, it's more an issue of not really knowing what to write.

We thought we'd follow Robin and Sal's example and start a wedding planning blog. It seemed like fun, and gives me (Andrea) a place to muse about my newfound bridedom. It also gives me something to nag Jon about. :o) "Did you write in the blog?!?!" It's also a way for me (Jon) to actually you know, have a blog that you guys can read, since I read all of yours.

Aaaannyyhooo... it's interesting how having a destination wedding speeds up the planning process by a few months. Here's what we know so far:

Date: October 14th, 2006. This may be subject to change depending on availablity, our back up date is October 21st. (expect save-the-date e-mails in a few weeks)

Update (11/15/05 - Jon): Hokay, so apparently it has been decided (by Mohonk, not us) that we cannot have the wedding on a Saturday in October (having to do with the reservation of private dining space). However, Fridays are okay, so we're going for the 20th of October. Of course, that date is also subject to change, because we haven't yet actually gotten confirmation of booking that date. When we do, we'll send out the save-the-date emails.

Location: Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York. www.mohonk.com is the website, if you want to check it out. Both the ceremony and the reception will be there.

Wedding Party: If it were logistically possible, we'd have all of you in the wedding party, however, then we run the risk of the wedding party being bigger than the audience, and... that's just weird. The purpose of this weekend is for everyone to come and enjoy themselves without worrying about where you're going to stand, etc. Also, we realize that flying everyone cross country is fun enough without including the price of dresses you may never want to wear again and tuxedo rentals that include the Shoes of Satan. So, we're just going to have a Maid of Honor and Best Man, who is, in fact, a woman (said in the voice of Captain Jack Sparrow). :oD Thanks to Laura and Linda for agreeing to be the Best um... person... and Maid of Honor.

Other than that... we're pretty much clueless. :o) Well, not quite clueless, but everything else is still up in the air at the moment.

Oh, we also set this journal up to welcome any comments or suggestions you may have, so feel free to post. As with Robin and Sal's blog, if you're an anonymous poster because you don't have a livejournal, please sign your posts so we know who they're from (except if you're Tina, we can tell from your spelling, hehe). We will also have a webpage up and running soon with all of the general wedding info (and internet RSVP) that you can link other people to if you want. The url for that will be forthcoming.

So... that's it for now. I guess if you've read all this, you must have the url, so it's a good thing we didn't say anything stupid. :oD

Hokay, time for crackers and cheese!
Andrea and Jon
